Handmade Tea Tree Peppermint Avocado Shea Butter Shampoo Bar Soap
Peppermint and Tea Tree Essential Oils are used to scent this soap, making a therapeutic and invigorating shower or bath. The sometimes medicinal scent of Tea Tree is blended with Peppermint for a softer, more attractive scent. The bar has a creamy yellow base color with swirls of green and brown in it (French Green and Rhassoul Clays) The Avocado Oil, Shea Butter , and Jojoba Oil nourish, condition, and moisturize hair and scalp. Castor Oil contributes to a beautiful lather. This soap is a very gentle and skin loving, good for the hair and body. Men and women enjoy this bar. Plus, this is a great way to go green, ditching the plastic shampoo bottle. It is also convenient for traveling, as a bar of soap takes less room than a bottle of shampoo (and you can bring it in your carry-on bag).
Australian Tea Tree Oil is said to have antiseptic properties and is thought to help treat scalp conditions such as dandruff and head lice. It is also said to stimulate new hair growth by removing dead skin cells from hair follicles. It has a fresh, slightly medicinal scent, leaving you energized and revitalized. Tea Tree Oil has also been used to combat acne and oily skin.
Peppermint Essential Oil is very refreshing and energizing, known to be a mental stimulant. Peppermint is believed to be a good nerve tonic that helps with mental fatigue and nervous stress.
Avocado Oil is good for moisturizing dry, brittle, and damaged hair. While it is light weight and is easily absorbed into the hair and scalp, the vitamins, amino acids, and high fat content promote healthy cell growth and are great for maintaining and restoring scalp health. It has natural humectant properties adding and locking in moisture.
Shea Butter is known for its moisturizing and emollient properties. Rich in vitamins and fatty acids, it penetrates deeply into the hair follicles and skin and leaves a smooth, satiny finish.
Jojoba Oil is well known for promoting hair and scalp health. It also moisturizes and softens your skin and hair, without clogging your pores.
Castor Oil is an excellent humectant, attracting and holding moisture to the skin. It moisturizes and softens your skin without clogging your pores.
***If using a bar shampoo is new to you, it's really very simple. You just wet your hair and rub the bar around in it until you get the lather you want. Using the fingertips, massage into the scalp and leave on while you finish your shower. Rinse out completely. If you normally use conditioner, apply it on the hair avoiding the scalp area.
I recommend an Apple Cider Rinse following the bar shampoo, as it aids with manageability and leaves the hair soft and beautifully shiny and full. Apple cider vinegar removes build-up from the hair and restores a proper pH to the scalp. My scalp feels so healthy with this rinse, I do it after every shampoo. To do the rinse, put 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup and add approximately 8 oz. of warm water from the shower. (I just leave a bottle of apple cider vinegar in the bathroom). Rinse immediately or leave on the scalp while you finish your shower and then rinse out completely. You may smell the vinegar in the shower, but once your hair is dry, the vinegar smell will dissipate.
I make each batch from scratch myself, with love and care. All of my soaps areall natural - I never use artificial coloring or fragrance oils. I use only high quality ingredients. I do not use any palm oil, because of it's negative impact on rain forests and Orangutan habitat.
