Heritage Masala Chai is a collaborative creation of the Heritage Tea Assam community. The blend is made by Rajen Baruah's wife, June Baruah. Black tea is used as the base, crafted by Rajen and June's son, teamaker Ishan Baruah. The spices are grown by Rajen's small grower network in Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

Ingredients: Assam CTC black tea, Assam Pekoe black tea, cardamom, clove, cinnamon, bay leaf.

Origin: Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh - India

Elevation: 0-500m ( 1,640 ft)

Cultivation: Natural (Organic, but no certification)

Harvest Date: Winter 2018

Preparation Suggestion:
While this tea is great on its own, we find its really good with milk! Any kind of milk really works, but we use Oatmilk and it makes a great sweet Chai to have hot or cold.

Here is the general recipe,
1. Add sugar to your milk, bring to a boil.
2. Add a tea pod full of Chai, or dump some straight in the pot (we add an extra cinnamon stick cuz we crazy!) give a quick stir to submerge the leaf.
3. Turn off heat, cover until cool enough to drink.
4. Strain, taste, and adjust until your perfect cup is achieved!

Packaging Notes:
This tea comes in a compostable bag with 2oz of tea. You can store this tea in the bag it comes in! Usually a big tea storage container is ideal, but any cool, dry, dark, place will work.
